Week Ahead | FX Market Drives on Anticipation of US Fed Interest Rate Hikes & Brexit Votes

Monday

  • JPY – Industrial Production

It is observed as a Quiet Day in terms of Major Economic data to be released and the only significant data is from Japan which is the Industrial Production released by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry measures outputs of the Japanese factories and mines. Changes in industrial production are widely followed as a major indicator of strength in the manufacturing sector.

 

Tuesday

  • GBP – ILO Unemployment Rate
  • Germany – ZEW Survey

Tuesday UK Zone will release their ILO Unemployment Rate released by the National Statistics is the number of unemployed workers divided by the total civilian labor force. It is a leading indicator for the UK Economy. If the rate is up, it indicates a lack of expansion within the U.K. labor market.

Germany being the largest Economy of Euro Zone their ZEW Survey measures the institutional investor sentiment, reflecting the difference between the share of investors that are optimistic and the share of analysts that are pessimistic

 

Wednesday

  • GBP – Consumer Price Index
  • USD – FOMC Economic Projections, Fed’s Monetary Policy Statement, Interest Rate Decision & Press Conference

It will be a busy day since Major Economies will be releasing their major statistics today. To start with UK Will release their Consumer Price Index which will indicate to measure inflation and changes in purchasing trends. Followed by the most awaited reports for this week which will be Interest Rate Decision, Fed Projections & Monetary Policy Statements. Finally to conclude Press Conference will be held to detail the General public on the Monetary Stance of Fed and their strategic plans for following quarter.

 

Thursday

  • GBP – BoE Interest Rate Decision & Minutes
  • US Initial Jobless Claims

BoE Interest Rate Decision is announced by the Bank of England & their Meeting minutes for the following quarter. Followed by US which will release their Initial Jobless Claims which will give us it provides a measure of strength in the labor market and or indicates weakness in this market which influences the strength and direction of the US economy.

 

Friday

  • EUR – Markit Manufacturing PMI

The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) released captures business conditions in the manufacturing sector. As the manufacturing sector dominates a large part of total GDP, the manufacturing PMI is an important indicator of business conditions and the overall economic
